Personal Impact
This is an intensive one-day course that enables you to beat
nerves and to communicate with greater confidence, coherence and
clarity. It’s an essential first step to mastering the skills
of presentation and tackles everything from posture and eye contact
to listening skills and engaging your audience. It also teaches
you how to re-direct destabilising or negative energy into dynamic
communication.
Who should attend?
Anyone who recognises that they need to improve their personal presentation
skills, and especially those who have problems coming to terms with
‘stage fright’. This course will enable you to overcome
nervousness and deal with even the most challenging situation.
This course counts for 6.5 hours CPD with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Personal Impact - for People in the Legal Profession
This one day course is aimed at solicitors and those in the legal profession
and is for anyone who wants to improve their ability to communicate and develop a
commanding presence. The programme covers all the key elements of good communication,
from posture, vocal presence and eye contact through to developing your message and
engaging an audience. It aims to equip participants with tools to communicate more
effectively in a variety of legal situations such as: client briefings and meetings,
or court appearances. By joining people together from the legal profession, the course
encourages discussion and practical work to have a particular emphasis on issues faced
by those in the legal sector.
This course counts for 6.5 hours CPD with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Voice of Influence
This two-day course encourages you to realise the full potential
of your body and voice so that you can convey your message more
effectively to your audience, whether at a conference, in a board
meeting or in a one-to-one presentation.
The course applies tried, tested and proven techniques from classical
acting to help you make the most of your powers of communication,
and includes specific instruction in how to project your voice without
effort, how to develop the pitch, range, strength and flexibility
of your voice, how to add interest to your delivery and how to maintain
ease of breathing.
Who should attend?
If you are in a more senior position and your job requires you to
speak to larger audiences, whether you are already experienced speaker
or not, this course will help you project your voice more powerfully
and hold the attention of your audience.

Personal Impact in Meetings
This one-day course uses scenario-based practical work to develop your impact and influence in meetings. In daily business life meetings have a central role and the success of those meetings can depend upon effective communication skills, whether the meeting be at board level, a presentation or pitch to clients or an appraisal or informal meeting. However, it can be difficult to find your voice in meetings or come across as you intend to. The aim of this course is to learn how to make an impact, develop your listening and influencing skills and get the most out of meetings.
Through a combination of practical work and discussion, this course
will increase the confidence of the participants, whether they be chairing or attending. Delegates will take part in meeting exercises taking different roles
to explore the methods for meetings to be more successful.
Who should attend?
Anyone who would like to improve their personal impact in meetings.

Presentation Skills Evening Group
Need to give effective business presentations?
Keen to improve your communication skills?
Want to boost your confidence in public speaking?
Join our evening workshop programme to become a better
business communicator. Receive training and input from one of our
senior tutors who will provide you with constructive feedback in
a highly participative environment. Develop your skills at RADA’s
unique speakers’ club in an atmosphere which is both productive
and fun!
The course will comprise a series of 8 evening sessions of 2.5 hours
each, on a weekly basis. Each session will include a range of practical
exercises and plenty of opportunity to practice the skills you are
gaining.
Topics which will be covered are: voice, breathing, body language,
and the preparation and structure of a presentation. There will
also be the chance to work on any particular issues relating to
your own future speaking engagements. Participants can be filmed
at the beginning and end of the course in order to monitor their
own progress.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for those who prefer to do their training
in the evenings rather than taking time out of the working day.
It is also ideal for those who feel that learning in a modular format
over a number of weeks suits them best.

Refresher Course
These occasional courses offer the opportunity to revise the key
factors behind effective presenting, to re-energise your public speaking,
and to further develop your presentation skills.
During the course, through a series of practical exercises, you
will be reminded of the most important points to be aware of when
speaking in public, whether that be in front of an audience or within
a meeting. After giving a short presentation you will receive constructive
feedback in a highly participative environment, as well as tips
on how to make further progress. This refresher will enable you
to enhance your skills and boost your confidence.
Who should attend?
If you have previously attended a RADA in Business course on presentation
and communication and would like to brush up your skills you will
find a refresher course invaluable.
Date: 22 October '08 (half-day course).
Attendees: 10 maximum
