Greg de Polnay

Greg de Polnay has been an actor, director and voice teacher for the past thirty-five years, working in all aspects of the theatre with several West End credits to his name. He has made over 100 TV appearances and 350 radio broadcasts.

After a successful career in the theatre Greg decided to branch out in other directions. He retrained as a voice specialist at the Central School of Speech and Drama, where he gained the Advanced Diploma in Voice Studies and later completed an MA at King’s College, London, in Text and Performance Studies. Greg then went on to become Head of Voice at the Drama Centre, London and at LAMDA. He has also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Colorado, Boulder and performed his show ‘You Can’t Shut Out The Human Voice’ in the USA, Canada, South Africa as well as the RSC, The Cheltenham Literary Festival and BBC Radio 4

During the past two decades, Greg has been on the teaching staff at RADA and developed the second year classical acting repertoire, directing over 25 Jacobean and Restoration plays there. He has run many courses for both RADA and RADA Enterprises. He was drama advisor for the BBC World Service Classical Drama Series.

He has coached several top TV News and Sports presenters and is now a freelance consultant in public speaking and communication skills. Greg is a Senior Training Consultant and has worked with RADA Enterprises since its beginning. Clients include AON, Arup, KPMG, Balfour Beatty, several civil service departments such as the DBERR, DfID and HMRC. He has also run training courses for various local authorities in particular Surrey and Kent County Councils.
